There are more websites or blogs that are talking about uploading photos. If you have a free online photo album, or any album of some sort, you can use free online photo storage to host your images. The demand for these hosting services is increasing all the time. Most likely these kind of webpages have some sort of advertising to help funding their servers.

After uploading photos, you will have thumbnails for you to use on blogs and other sites.

You won’t have a problem finding one that suits your needs. You want to make sure that your photos upload nicely and that they look nice on your online photo album.

Hi I have created my web site through microsoft publisher,
I have got a domain and hosting.

When I goto file manager I upload my HTML file then I create a image folder and uploaded my files.

When I go back to my HTML and view it the writing is there but no images are there.

First BIG mistake: Word, WordPad, Publisher and even the infamous FrontPage should NEVER be used for web pages. They guarantee that your web pages will NOT be cross-browser compatible because of all the Microsoft Schema code it adds. Only IE and Maxthon understand this code. Additionally, FrontPage requires server extensions be installed to work correctly.

Always use lowercase for folder/file names. That includes tags and their attributes. NEVER use compound names for folders/file names. That is words with spaces in them. Browsers do not parse link paths very well with links using whitespace.

Always be sure the files you are linking to are in the same relationship with the files using the path throughout your site. Relative paths are best.

Looking for an image hosting website to upload photos to.
Criteria MUST include:
- FREE service which includes….
- minimum 2GB per month uploads
- images viewable at original upload size

I’ve checked some (flickr, photobucket, webshots, and a few more) but they do not meet the above criteria (unless paying for an account).

I can’t upload any images in any image hosting sites.?

try flickr.com. it’s a yahoo picture thing, and it works great for me! and it’s a great way to store your pictures too.

they also let you upload folders at a time from ur hard drive, so it’s fast and easy! plus there isn’t a restriction on size ( i have att internet, so the service is free, but the free version on flickr only moderates how many pics you upload in a month)

Do the images count toward the bandwidth usage if they are hosted from an image hosting site?
There are companies that host your website for free such as awardspace.com. The free accounts only allows you 6GB of bandwidth per month. I was wonderful what if I upload my website’s images to a site like photobucket.com and only upload my HTML files to my awardspace.com hosting account. Will the images count toward the bandwith on my awardspace.com account even though they are hosted from photobucket.com? Basically, if you pull up a page from my website, you will get the html page from my awardspace.com server and then the images from the photobucket.com server.

Images hosting (Amazon S3?)?
I have a website that collects and displays events, and for each event form I would like to be able to upload an image (flyer). Once uploaded I need this image to be associated with the event so that when I come to display the event on my page, the image will be displayed as well.

I have been warned that storing images in MySQL is bound to cause trouble, and I have also been pointed towards storing the images on my filesystem or to use amazon s3. Can anyone give me some advice what the best way to do this is, and if there is a way of doing it without paying for any services on top of my hosting package with 123reg.

I need to:
Upload an image in a similar way that you would upload text to mysql
Be able to call on that image and display it on my site dynamically

You can change the “p” tags to div tags and style as needed.

Make sure your paths are correct. The files using the image tags should use relative paths.

What’s the question exactly?

If all of your pics were 100k, you would need 400 * 100 = 40,000 k, or 40 MB.

If all of your pics were 20k, you would need 400 * 20 = 8,000 k, or 8 MB.

Not knowing how your pic sizes are distributed, I think 10MB won’t be enough.

Right, so my friend has a website that I would like to help out with. Up to now I have just been giving him content to code in himself using HTML. Since I know a fair bit myself I thought that I should start submitting him the code to save him from doing the work. i use tinypic and recently all of my images have for some reason been reduced in quality by a lot. They look awful.

this means i’ll have to re-upload like 100 images and fix everything on my page that i use.

If your hosting company offers you Fantastico there are built in scripts for a number of things, 3 of which are for setting up a photo sharing site. All the scripts within Fantastico are free and very simple to set up, all you need is the ability to set up an SQL database and it will install for you. I recommend the Coopermine script as the one to go with. You can have people sign up and upload photos, add them from other sites, comment on them, hide them, everything…

No, you don’t have to buy a hosting service such as bluehost. ImageShack or Photobucket would do just fine, but I recommend Photobucket since it doesn’t limit the file size or bandwidth, so you can upload as many photos as you want—for free!

If I add images to my blog from another site, does my blog, or the image hosting site, get credit for clicks?
I wanted to include some images that I have on another web site.

(They’re my images, no issue of copyright). But I wanted to know if it’s better having the images in an image directory on the SAME server as the blog, in terms of SEO. The images would only be linked to through my blog site, so the only way to find them even, would be by viewing them on my blog.

For example, if someone clicks on my image after searching, if the image is on another web site, does the click count for the image hosting site, or my own web site (which is the only site that has a link to the image, even though the image URL is different) ?

I’ve seen image search results from all search engines that show the image URL, as well as the URL of the web page featuring the image, which is sometimes different.

Both solutions work…I am solely concerned with SEO.

If you’re trying to SEO a specific site, then you want anything and everything related to that site to be ON that site, not some other site.

When Google indexes the images on your site, it looks at the path to the image, afterall, that’s where the image resides, right? So if the path to the image is pointing to another website, that other website will “get the click”, as you say, not yours.
